What is a Gaming Convention?
Most Game Conventions are events that draw players of Role Playing Games (Dungeons and Dragons,
GURPS, etc.), Tabletop Wargaming (Napoleonics, Warhammer, BattleTech, AT-43, etc.), Collectable Card Games (Magic
the Gathering, Warlord, etc.) and strategy/board games (Monopoly, Risk, Diplomacy, Settlers of Catan, etc.). Conventions
provide a place for everyone to play and to meet others with similar interests. Generally there are special guests and
special events (bring-and-buy stalls, seminars, etc.). Conventions are a great place to find/try new games, learn new strategies
from new opponents, and socialize with others within the hobby.
